Day 11 Harpster to Spokane via Coeur d’Alene

Our day begins with 7:15am Mass at Ss Peter & Paul, a good beginning for our adventures.

Taking John and Kim’s recommendation, we stop by Crema Café.
There I savor a vanilla latte coffee with a buttery scone, while Doug opts for a Café Americano, a scone, and a breakfast burrito. I steal one bite of his burrito! Delicious!

A peaceful drive to Coeur d’Alene precedes a walk around “the longest floating boardwalk in the world” ( that’s what the sign says). Lovely, balmy weather heightens our pleasure as we stroll along the picturesque lake.

I can’t resist lifting my phone to snap pictures of a dandelion sculpture and one of Mudgy Moose. I have to include one of the dozens of hanging baskets overflowing with flowers and greenery too.

I’m glad for our stop in Coeur d’Alene, even though I can hardly wait to see my friend Michelle.

We finally arrive at the spot where Alan and Michelle, dear friends from Phoenix, serve as volunteer hosts at a Spokane campground.

I don’t want to venture down near the water and onto the rocks with Doug and Alan. Michelle senses my hesitancy and we watch the guys from the swinging bridge.

Can you tell we enjoy each others’ company?

Before heading to our night’s lodging we share a delicious meal at the picnic table outside Michelle and Alan’s camper. Our hearts are even more full than our bellies as we contemplate the goodness of life surrounded by the beauty of creation and good friends.

The earth is the LORD’s and all it holds,

the world and those who dwell in it.

-Psalm 24:1
